Description
The church of Santa Rosa de Lima sleeps between US 84 and the Rio Chama, just south of the village of Abiquiu, New Mexico. The thick, adobe walls were erected in 1744, and the structure of faith is still used for worship and prayer by a few local believers, some of whom may be descendants of the Spanish settlers who built the chapel. Two days after Thanksgiving, 2019, light snow dusts the brown dirt that was the source and is the destination of the melting adobe walls.
